Lakeview Terrace Resort Has New Owners

It didn’t take Ryan Cinelli and Jordan Snow long to decide that the Lakeview Terrace Resort was just what they were looking for.

Cinelli had a look in November and took in the quaint cabins set on a terraced hillside above Lewiston Lake with plenty of space for children to play and adults to relax. And, the place has history.

“When I got here I got halfway up the hill and fell in love with it,” Cinelli said.

He and Snow had been on the hunt for just such an opportunity. They purchased the resort in March and have been cleaning and restoring its buildings along with workers they’ve hired.

They plan a Grand Opening celebration from noon to 4 p.m. this Sunday, May 6. Festivities will include music by the Trinity Blues Shakerz at 2 p.m. There will be hot dogs and soft drinks, a raffle and tours provided.

Cinelli and Snow come to Trinity County from Hermosa Beach, Calif., where he had been working in real estate.

The couple enjoyed RVing and camping so much they started looking for a place of their own. They started the search in Southern California. “Just didn’t see anything we loved, and I ended up expanding the search more and more,” Cinelli said.

“I’d never been north of Sacramento,” he acknowledged, but they decided this was the right fit.

One thing they enjoy about the area is the history. Many of the wood cabins and Quonset huts were built and brought in by the Army Corps of Engineers to house workers building Trinity Dam in the 1960s.

The 15-acre property includes 16 cabins for vacationers including the rustic cabins and newer log cabins. There are also 31 RV spaces with full hookups. There are six mobile home sites, and some permanent residents have lived there for many years.

A large tree fort and an amphitheater built by the previous owner add to the fun. There’s also a playground and swimming pool. And, of course, just across the road there is “world class fishing” at Lewiston Lake and up the road is Trinity Lake. The Trinity Alps Wilderness is nearby.

The place provides visitors a way to “escape the craziness,” Cinelli said.

Cinelli and Snow live onsite, as do the resort caretakers, Arnie and Amanda Messex. The new owners say they’ve been welcomed by residents and the community. On Sunday they hope to see more new friends at their Grand Opening.

Lakeview Terrace Resort is located at 9001 Trinity Dam Boulevard in Lewiston. The phone is 778-3803. For more information, go to www.TheLakeviewTerraceResort.com.
