The hike to the Middle and Upper Emerald Pools (Lower Pools were closed) the Kayenta Trail is an easy 2-ish mile round-trip hike. With the Lower Pools closed, this was an out-and-back hike. It can be done as a loop when the Lower Pools are open.
Vegetation along the hike is lush for the desert setting. The upper pool is surrounded by dramatic sheer cliffs.
Overall, this is a charming little hike with great water features. And heck, who doesn't like a waterfall?
